What are your Local Institutes?

The Local Institutes are voluntary organizations led by industry professionals through a Local Council. When you join The Insurance Institute, you can choose to be part of one of five local institute communities. This membership allows you to expand your network and participate in local events relevant to your area, enhancing your professional connections and opportunities.

The Insurance Institute of Galway Summer BBQ

Family Fun Day Fota Wildlife Park 2026

The Insurance Institute of Cork is delighted to invite members and their families to come join us to take part in a family fun day at the Fota Island Resort Wildlife Park, a 100-acre wildlife park located on Fota Island and one of Ireland’s top visitor attractions on Saturday 27th June.

World Cup Semi Final Watch Along

We’re delighted to invite you to an Insurance Institute of Dublin social event hosted by our President, Julie Frazer, at the iconic Aviva Stadium. Join us for a World Cup semi-final watch along, tasty grub and chilled drinks, and some great conversation - an evening that’s all about reconnecting and remembering why being part of this industry matters. Before the match, you’ll also have the chance to take part in a short guided tour of the stadium.

Queen Maeve Trail 2026

The Insurance Institute of Sligo Council is inviting members along with family and friends to join them for a very special fundraising walk. The aim is to raise much needed funds for the Insurance Charity and Croi.

Model Constitution for Local Institutes

Local Institutes are governed by a Model Constitution – meaning each local institute has the same constitution document.

The Model Constitution sets out how a local institute may be formed, how it should be administered and governed and how a Local Council is appointed for that purpose.

The Model Constitution also sets out the connectivity a local institute has to the national Insurance Institute and how it appoints representatives who in turn form part of the governance of the Insurance Institute.
